Judi, This is starting to sound like a hardware problem. It could be a number of things, from the motherboard, hard drive, memory or even your power supply. I can only think of one more thing to try before you start removing the hard drive to install in another computer. Can you get into your BIOS setup? It is possible someone or something has changed your BIOS settings. I am not sure how to get into the BIOS setup on your computer, that information is usually displayed on the monitor when you start your computer. The BIOS setup is where you tell your computer what device to load the operating system from. Since you stated earlier that your floppy drive light does not come on then it is possible that someone has change the boot sequence to bypass the floppy drive. Be very careful when changing any BIOS setting and be sure you write down the settings before you change anything. There are usually options to save the current BIOS setting and/or to restore the setting to their default values. If the setting look OK then I think that your problems are probably due to a hardware failure. B.K.
