Does this story sound familiar to anyone? In January I bought a new Dell computer without a monitor. Office Depot was having a promo on View Sonic 19" LCD monitors with $100 rebate. I grabbed up the last one the store had. I followed the instructions for the rebate, sent in the paper work along with receipts, UPC coupon from the carton, etc.

Since 90 days have passed, the Dell rebates came in long ago, but no word from View Sonic. So, on my dime, I called their "Where's my Rebate?" long distance number. Dieing on hold for some 15 minutes, a couldn't-care-less-female mumbled something. I had to give her my name, address, zip twice only to learn she couldn't find me in the system.

View Sonic acknowledged my registration of the product in January, but I'm not in the system. The couldn't-care-less-female had no address for View Sonic in her system either. Her advice was to go back to the store where I made the purchase and get their help. How much help do you suppose I'll find there, with no receipt or proof of purchase?

Chalk this up to my own carelessness for not keeping copies of everything. I will pursue this with View Sonic, but their web site is something just short of user friendly.
