It depends on the application. The P3 has a much bigger cache, but the cache runs slower than the celeron's. Also, I think the P3 has the SSE instruction set. Not sure what all those things do. Richard will tell you. This is a review of a dual P3 vs a dual Celeron system, but the same principles apply for single systems.
