What I am questioning here is his business plan soundness. A solid business plan must have certain back-ups that will allow the ongoing concerns to survive. Looks like there is no emergency parachute!

Nine months is too short to call it quit, if the plan was solid. I see only one possibility, he sold his business plan very well to individual investors. That's too bad!
