What if our Greenspan said that you zonder, in Monaco, or anyone in France, or in Germany STILL aren't paying enough taxes....How would you/Europe like that? Same thing.
It would be his opinion. A very qualified one at that, given his position and his experience.
Except if he were talking about Monaco it would be hilarious, because this is a tax haven - there is no income tax in Monaco :-)
The world of economics is not a sentimental place. "How would you like that?" is not a relevant question. I would be interested in his reasoning, follow his analysis, and decide for myself whether or not he is right. "Liking" has nothing to do with it.
The major difference is that the US helps nearly every country in the world with the tax money they collect from the citizens, while I can't name a single country in the world that helps anyone in the US with their taxes...
The US gives loans and grants to other countries in order to either support them against others undesirable for the US (Israel) or to buy their support in certain occasions (Turkey). If you think it is out of the kindness of Americans' hearts that this money is given, you are very wrong.
By the way, it seems you are trying to say "My country gives financial aid to other countries, so no head of another country's central bank, no matter how qualified he is in the subject, can make an analytical criticism of our economy". It is a very strange argument. |
