I can say enough about the potential of this company since the merger. Combined with quantum maxtor will have a dominant market share, lower costs, less competition, and the best of two product lines. Once maxtor integrates quantum's industry leading SCSI technology into their Maxattach line, they open the door for explosive growth into the mid to high-end NAS market (remember NTAP?). Meanwhile a few players and their new size maxtor is in a position to dictate the rules in the IDE market. This should go a long way towards decommoditizing (read: higher margins) the industry. On the demand side, the outlook is pretty good for all storage makers. With the explosion of digital music, high bandwidth Internet connections, and especially digital video (think TIVO) the consumer demand for ever-larger storage will only intensify over the next few years. So better to invest in than the world leader in storage capacity? (Hint: that would be maxtor with their 80 GB diamondmax40 Drive). Basically I consider maxtor a steal under 10 dollars, and I am not likely to let go of before we hit 20.

Can anyone disagree?
