An execute at AT&T divulged that AT&T is intentionally holding ATHM cable modem back so that their millions of copper-line telephone technology can have a head start in deployment. Had Cable-modem spread like wild, which it should already have a year ago, DSL would never have a chance like right now. It would be dead like ISDN. "If you can't compete with it, buy it and chop it off at the knee" are common practices by mega giant corporation. FCC is a joke, they turn a blind eyes giving AT&T permission to buy ATHM.
