Excerpted from the December 4, 1997 press release from Claire's Stores Inc: Year to date Monthly Sales (in 000s) FY 1998 $ 379,402 FY 1997 $ 331,754 Change 14% Research Analysts Earnings Estimates From Zacks: Consensus Estimate for current fiscal year (1/98) $ 1.20/share Consensus Estimate for next fiscal year (1/99) $ 1.41/share That sure does sound like a company in the process of "tanking". Regarding your suggestion that I read a newspaper instead of watching the evening news, how about Investors Business Daily, Barrons, and the New York Times.
