Tito, I'm glad you have considered all the downside possibilities.
Not to quibble - but Vanguard and others define a bear market as
a 20% or greater drop. By that definition, the last one was July-Oct
1990 with a drop of 21.2%. It took 6.2 months to recover.
I could live with something like that.
I do not believe in market timing at all.

A thought: I believe investors as a group can learn. Since we have had two corrections in the last 12 months, and both times stocks recovered in short order, enough people may remember and ride out
the next one. That would tend to limit fear selling and the size of the drop.
