soup,
In short, they (I) choose excellence over conformity.
Bravo!
and Bill Jackson...
I can tell that you're an intelligent man from your posts. I, therefore, have to assume that you are aware of the NUMBER of times you have reiterated your belief that Apple should have a wide open licensing system. You have, by far, led the number of posts in the last 500, with many of them making reference to this belief. Most of what's left over are a two-man conversation about Intel chip production between you and Bob Whatshisname. I'm not sure why you are doing this. Maybe it's becasue you like the sound of your own voice. Maybe it's because you think this is your personal pulpit to spam your ideas to the 2450 lurkers on this thread. Or maybe it's somehow innocent. If by some chance it is, then let it be known that WE ALL GET THE IDEA and have gotten it for over a month. If you've been around as long as you say, then you must have other interesting ideas to offer. But to tell you the truth Bill, I don't see how a person gets off dominating an Apple thread regarding technical issues, when they don't even know the difference between a 603e and a 604e. And when's the last time you spent some quality time with a modern 200+ Mhz PPC, running 7.61 or 8? Do you understand the difference between Yellow, Red and Blue Box? Are you familiar with the 750 chips and their backside cache capabilities? Do you understand what Apple currently has? If so, I, for one, would love to hear what you think about any of these topics. But if the only thing you have to offer is this licensing scheme and railing about Apple impending death if they stay proprietary, then PLEASE back off if you have any respect for others on this thread. Or maybe you should just start a new thread. Are you aware you can do this yourself? It's easy.
Whaddayasay?
That's my opinion. I welcome comments.
