B: Robertson Stephens Reiterates Buy Rating on CUBE

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct 20, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Robertson Stephens
Senior Semiconductor Device Analyst Arun Veerappan today reiterated his
Buy rating on C-Cube Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CUBE). The company
provides highly integrated, standards-based digital video compression
solutions for applications in the consumer electronics, computer and
communications market.

"We are reiterating our Buy rating on C-Cube, after the company
reported third quarter 1999 revenues of $101.4 million and
earnings-per-share of $0.32, $2.4 million and $0.03 above our
estimates, respectively," said Veerappan. "The company's strong quarter
results were driven by both the DiviCom and semiconductor businesses."

"As C-Cube enters a seasonally stinger period, we believe the company
is well positioned to grow revenues in the high single-digit range for
the fourth quarter of 1999," said Veerappan. "We believe C-Cube appears
to be on the right track, continuing to execute strongly in both of its
divisions."
