Aaron, Re: "Intel being capacity constrained for high-end chips" - It might even be true for low end chips. An unfortunate byproduct of this is of course that it leaves an opening for the x86 cloners to sell some of their inventory (this has already manifested itself in better than expected sales for Cyrix and AMD in September).

Regarding chips for the NCs - I wouldn't read much into today's announcements. All it says is that if the NC market does indeed grow to be more than insignificant, INTC will be there to provide the CPUs. We still have to see the NC market grow for this to become a factor.

As for Cyrix, they indeed have had competitive chips out for a while but as we all know by now, it takes more than a competitive design to sell CPUs,
