Elmat comes in defense of the US: MSFT by having a monopoly didn't allow stupid engineers all over the world writing different norms for PCs.

As an old engineer I have my share of stupidity built into things just to satisfy norms.

The US also have electric plugs are sensible as is the Schuko-type used of Germany. Look to the Aussie plug, even a cow can laugh about it, and (Oh my God! the British.

But paper in you printer it is still A-4 for normal people and Legal and Letter for the US.
