In general, Biotech companies may be starting to behave like technology companies where a product has a finite life cycle which is either upgraded or ( in the case of biotechs) most likely superseded. Crixivan was by Viracept. The question is not if but when. For this reason, recent licensing moves by AGPH are strategically correct. Let us hope they lead to successful drugs and revenue streams.

By two legs I meant having a diversified product line (AIDs and Cancer) rather than dependence on a single drug/single disease - for reasons mentioned above.

On a more positive side, in a recent interview, posted on the Yahoo message thread, Peter Johnson described "stable" AG3340 Phase I results as no growth in tumor size in twenty five percent of patients with advanced cancer. This is decidedly more promising than earlier suggestions, made on this thread, that Phase I results should be deemed satisfactory if they merely demonstrated adequate safety profiles. Wish What Johnson said subsequently had been included in the AGPH Phase I press release. It would have helped the AGPH longs and avoided disparagement.

There is a lot of valuable information posted by those who are better informed than I am. However, if honest concerns are raised - even if based on ignorance, and are reasonably addressed then it should be a plus for the stock.
