"You offer no arguments of your own for including the painter of the Sistine chapel as a "freethinker".

I gave you my reasons and I acknowledged that is an opinion.

That the incredible genius and scientific rationality of De Vinci made it probable that no superstitious dogma infused his unlimited thought. Remember that the Catholic church was still torturing and killing. To believe that a man of De Vinci's rationality should swallow the most primitive and transparent of superstitions is asking a bit much. But we don't know. He was extremely secretive (good for him) and the church certainly had no quarrel with him (good for him, again!).

I believe that he was a freethinker like the other great benefactors of mankind. But I could be wrong. Even if he was not he was still a great and good man. Greatness and goodness are not limited to freethinkers.

"So why make up a stupid lie that he was when you have no idea .... when consideration of the evidence would cause a reasonable person to think he wasn't?"

I didn't make up a lie. I gave you my opinion. I believe most freethinkers would agree with me and disagree with you. I have exchanged scores of posts with you now and I don't believe you are a sincere seeker of truth. You appear prejudiced and dogmatic, and it seems to me that you striving to intentionally misrepresent ideas and prejudice opinion.
