You are quite right: <But they all have a common element - to believe and act on them, they require "faith" in hidden spirits. A hidden entity that makes predictions and that you can pray to for guidance. Such faith is diminishing in most of the world, but remains very common in Iran as it is in the US. >
One of the dominant faiths these days is the Church of CO2. It has prophets, priests, acolytes, altars, congregations like the haj, such as at Cancun which was a LOT of fun, and Durban, though Copenhagen was a bit of a fizzer, but no doubt a lot of fun in the nooks and crannies away from prying eyes. It even has a Mahdi - the second coming of Al Gore and his second chakra. There are excommunications, heresy, apostates and deniers.
It has a bigger cash flow than all other religions and is the official state religion in many places.
Being an expert in religions, do you think it will take over from all others? In a mud-wrestling contest, would Islamic Jihad's Iranian ladies beat Climate Change International ladies? Which would field hotter chicks?
