Uh....if they are "contractually obligated", then they have to do it or deal with a bunch of costly and time consuming lawsuits that they were likely to lose. Ever been in a lawsuit? It ain't fun.

And do you know Liddy, the CEO making all these decisions, joined AIG after the mess and is working for a dollar per year and getting no stock options, trying to clean the place up. Maybe you might want to chill a little with your attacks until you know all the facts.
