Tru64 Unix is just a re-branding of digital Unix as far as I can tell. This Unix was the first 64 bit Unix product (it has always been 64 bit since its introduction in 1993) and has a more advanced kernel architecture (it is based on Rick Rashid's MACH kernel, developed at CMU, and is also OSF compatible).

Despite architectural superiority and great performance, digital Unix has not developed the cult following that the older Unix flavors have. If CPQ is able to make Alpha a volume business, then their Unix should also benefit.

Alpha has been given a whole new life by Intel's failure to execute their 64 bit development. I expect CPQ to make the most of this opportunity. Samsung (and Alpha Processor Inc.) are pushing other OEMs to produce an alpha-based product. DELL might well go at least to the design and prototype stage with an Alpha box, in case Intel is further delayed and 64 bit computing starts to take off.
