By the way, Fred, I have mentioned that I have never owned a gun, never shot one outside of a carnival ( with the exception of a bb gun, I guess), have never hunted, have not even fished since around puberty, do not belong to the NRA, and have no especial knowledge to contribute to the ongoing debates about lethality, availability, and such. I have made a few mild observations, such as about the text of the 2nd Amendment, or the opinion of Hobbes, and offered a couple of facts that I had picked up, such as that crime had gone down in right- to- carry states, but I have mainly demurred.
