Do you think OCLI is going to want more money? OCLI has delayed the merger vote.

I would. At the time of the announcement, OCLI's price came to $1.8 million per employee while ETEK's is $6 million.

Are there provisions for making changes this far into the deal?

Do you have any idea how JDSU will open? $15 billion is a pretty big mouthfull and I suspect analysts will have to do some number crunching. On the other hand, they've eliminated a competitor and more importantly added packaging capacity. Will the advantages outweigh the costs? And how long will it take analysts to publish new valuations?

I understand the synergies and see it as a brilliant move, long term. The question is what happens to the stock short term.

And, because I hold SDLI, what happens to it? ETEK is not a competitor, so nothing lost there. But if some were hoping they'd merge, there'll be disappointment. On the other hand, SDLI remains the last major FO player in the actives space and there are many who'd benefit from taking her out: LU, Corning, ALA, NT, to name a few.

A WAG says SDLI goes up and JDSU down. But I could be totally wrong.

What's your take?

Pat
