David: Your example of the "lovely chart..about to explode" ignores a few things and makes me wonder who the "crazy aunt in the attic" is. Gemmers who do their homework; read the site page and understand the philosophy clearly know that not all stocks that look good turn out good; that they are encouraged to enter stops and never ride a 20% decline. If you've been around the market a while, you know this. The problem is often the trader; his/her inexperience or misunderstandings. Most traders "get it" rather quickly. Perhaps you don't. And I must repeat; those who are "chastised" as you say, are those who don't do proper DD. Too, the service is not expensive; it's priced much lower than it could be. Over several years I see repeatedly that those selections that don't do well ARE mentioned and the "winners" far, far outnumber the "losers." The number one thread on SI doesn't remain #1 year after year if what you suggest is true. It's my sense that you really haven't done your homework; that you've focused on a few negatives to the exclusion of the quite remarkable and massive number positives. Perhaps you should lurk elsewhere...and be happy.
