I can still hear the oil execs saying; no, actually they were crying: "if we could only get 20 bucks a barrel". If they don't want to pay a reasonable and fair royalty rate, then I say let them go to more stable countries like Iraq to do business. The Alberta economy is so overheated from the sweetheart royalty scheme now in place and the wasteful and inflationary way these guys do business that it is becoming impossible for the average person to live here. I don't want to stop development but the current pace is simply unsustainable. We could use a slightly slower but steady pace of development.

Thats a good point Stan, but my wife is the director of the local food bank and so I guess I see more of the other side of things than the suits in downtown Calgary do.
