Chapter 4: News Corp no comment on SingTel report SYDNEY, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Rupert Murdoch's News Corp Ltd declined to comment on Monday on reports that the company had agreed to make a US$1 billion investment in Singapore Telecom . "We do not comment on market speculation," a spokeswoman in Sydney told Reuters. A source close to the deal earlier told Reuters a New York Times newspaper report detailing the News Corp investment was "essentially accurate". The Times quoted executives close to SingTel as saying that News Corp, as part of the investment, would set up an Internet, television and mobile telephone joint venture in Singapore similar to one it announced last year with Cable & Wireless HKT <0008.HK>.
