This was huge news, Walmart is 21% of the grocery business in the US, also has strong implications for Kroger expanding to meat and deli (already foreshadowed in ADs previous Q2 earnings).
Coot mentioned fast, could not agree more! A forecasted 2-year deployment (Walmart, bakery, deli, meat) and 1.5 year (Kroger, bakery only) is very fast. Especially when you consider that starts the RFID item level grocery journey in about 30% of grocery in the US. Would love some insight into what is going on in Europe, tons of incentive there to be more efficient and reduce waste. Can’t wait for labels on bananas, apples, watermelons, bags of lettuce etc.
