Jonathan,
I received the data on a CD included with an analysis package called SuperCharts 4. It's fairly common for data of this sort to be sold in conjunction with these analysis programs. I'm not a technical trader, but I'm interested in learning more about it. So many things to learn, so little time.
About four years ago, for a client I programmed a technical analysis system for trading currency futures. The client provided the system, I provided the computer code. The system seemed to work on historical data, but as that was not my line of work, I never really followed up on it. The code was written for a program called TradeStation, which is a more sophisticated analysis package, also produced by Omega Research.
I'm just ramping up on this sort of thing, but have found SuperCharts to be easy to work with, if for nothing else its charting capabilities. Although, I'm sure there are less expensive ways to chart data. I'm guessing that over the next few months, I'm going to find SuperCharts too limiting and will upgrade to TradeStation, but we'll see how it goes. Maybe, I'll settle down and get married instead.
Omega Research's home page is located at (not surprisingly):
