As usual, Dan3 "overlooks" an important aspect of the press release: Dan3's "spin" is "Intel gives go ahead to VIA on DDR chipset for Pentium III!" Dan3's quote is: "Intel Corporation and Via Technologies, Inc. today jointly announced that the companies have reached settlement of pending litigation related to a cross license between the two companies.... Via is licensed under Intel patents to produce P5 and P6 chipsets" Actual language of press release (Dan3's omissions capitalized): "Intel Corporation and Via Technologies, Inc. today jointly announced that the companies have reached settlement of pending litigation related to a cross license between the two companies.... UNDER THE MODIFIED AGREEMENT, Via is licensed under Intel patents to produce CERTAIN P5 and P6 chipsets." Draw your own inferences. biz.yahoo.com
