McCain likes his maverick role. If he took the VP slot, he would enjoy maverick status for a few minutes. Staying as Senator he enjoys the "love" of the media daily. My guess is he will remain where he is and Kerry will finally choose a less liberal person for the VP slot. Unless, of course, Mr. Clinton has his way. Kerry needs to make an announcement ASAP.
