One of the characteristics of the Iraq war was that State, which had a detailed plan of how to proceed, was completely shut out as Bush let the Rumsfeld military run the ENTIRE show. At that time, Condi was National Security Advisor, doing nothing.

Rice gets it.

She, more than any other person -- perhaps in the country, comprehends how important the win in Iraq is to our future security.

I'm not willing to argue with you about what she has and hasn't done because anything I see as an accomplishment you see as a detraction. It is pointless.

But if you look at the last 2-3 years under Bush, you will see that Rice had a substantial role in the positive outcome in Iraq. I would refer you to Woodward's last book if you want more information.
