I didn't see the interview, but I remember Zinni as hewing to the State line - gotta solver Israel/Pal first, stability above all, yada yada. He was Mideast envoy in 2002, when the Pals kept greeting him with a new suicide bombing every time he showed up to negotiate. Well, that's their idea of negotiation.

He was against the Iraq war as were all the State Realists. However, before you buy the 'I told you so' line, you should check if what he is saying now bears any resemblance to what he said beforehand.
