The Chinese have been raising children for quite some time and basically what they do is spoil the kids rotten until the age of reason. Modern psychologists have confirmed pretty much that the Chinese had the right idea. All Children reach the level of abstract thinking at about the same time - at 3 1/2 years old.
By that time all children will have been inbued with the tenets of at least one of our major religion, philosophy, cultures (i.e. Judeo-Christian, Confucian, muslim, Budhist, Hindi,..) et al.
All these religion/philosophies/cultures share pretty much the same views on good and evil as a philosophy (or way of life) as opposed to theology and or dogma.
In this type environment, evil really has a tough time existing. They exist only in some covert manner. Some evil person or idea has to hide behind some greater good facade - until they get the upper hand. Evil by its nature can not survive for very long. Evil destroys itself.
Locks are on doors because there are a very small percentage of people that actually steal - and great expense is incurred to protect against a handful of jerks - just as we go to great expense with security in air transport - to protect against a very tiny minority of people willing to commit suicide for some misguided reason.
Bottom line is, if I am betting (or investing), I am not going to bet on evil or any doomsday scenario out of our imagination.
The genie is out of the bottle (or is that wcdma=truth?)and whatever happens, the dark days are over.
Sh*t will still happen, but we will make the adjustments.
