I have often wondered whether it is possible to determine, accurately, blood alcohol levels, and/or levels of drugs, on bodies which were recovered after being underwater for a significant length of time, especially sea water, and, in this case, after suffering multiple traumas, which probably (sorry) ruptured internal organs. My suspicion is that any test results would be meaningless, at least for alcohol, which is volatile. But I don't know, and would welcome factual information.
