the reason i say he is unelectable is that he polls miserably with women voters and will probably get worse if actually gets the nomination and the obama team eviscerate him in their ads

sure he will get the far RW and RR female vote (the anyone but romney crowd, but that is a small group)

independents and moderates will cast their vote for obama over gingrich because he is a very unattractive candidate (physically and personality and character wise) so he won't get their vote....independents are the fastest growing segment of the electorate...i'm sure even his wife will be a huge turnoff to women voters, which to my dismay seems to have an inordinate amount of importance these days

romney otoh, is an attractive figure to women....he's been faithful to his wife of 40 years (through her illness contrast to gingrich) he comports himself as a good businessman (read provider) and doesn't just doesn't have the character baggage and his wife is very appealing to women voters...she has a good story to tell about overcoming cancer and MS and frankly is the type of gal women would want to be friends with.... .....let's face it, women tend to like the idea of government as 'provider' but the independents have seen a lot not to like about obama, mainly his overreach with gov't apparatus to run the country (command economy).....this may seem like a contradiction, but i don't think it is....i think women voters want competence in administering government and romney would fill the bill
