Teri, I just finished reading the following items from Tito and others on this thread. I am excited as how well AMAT is doing. As for your concern about my other stocks, my total Portifio is up 71% since last October 2, 1996. My broker yesterday said, "Paul, have you told your wife how well you have been doing? My reply was, no, she will want to spend it. I exercise the "Rule of 72, and compounded interest plus time." :) Just kidding, I do let her in on what is happening--she wants to buy a new sofa--you know those things--the female gender wants. The German, Irish, and Dutch in me is coming out.

The ones we should be proud and excited for is the excellent, dedicated, and foresighted employees who Tito is speaking about. They are the one who desire all the credit. We salute Big Buck and each of you employees of AMAT.

Last night I compared, chartwise, AMAT with the other semiconductor/equipment makers. The only one who was better than AMAT was VECO with a 85% gain, AMAT had a 84% gain.

What we all need to plan is a AMAT party at the next stockholders meeting in '98. Teri, Keep up the great posting. Thanks.

PAUL
