"the same" in this case being control of the economy, so "more of the same" is greater government control of the economy, or in other words "a step towards government control of the economy"

That's rather questionable unless you have a rather strict view of the constitution, in which case its probably violated by every modern president and congress.

The intent of socialism is to put full control of running a nation in the hands of its people.

That's often the nominal goal, but historically never the real goal of national level socialism.

Nonsense. The most racist policies that currently have any noticeable amount of support are mostly supported by the Democrats.
