Breaking News: Sen. Mark Kirk undergoes surgery after suffering stroke U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk has suffered a stroke and underwent surgery today at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, his office said. "On Saturday, Senator Kirk checked himself into Lake Forest Hospital, where doctors discovered a carotid artery dissection in the right side of his neck," his office said in a statement.
