Dropped calls, in my view, when it comes down to it, are more a function of the number of cells in the area than technology.

The level of denile that you are representing in that statement is just staggering to me.
Number of cells in an area are directly proportional the the number of people trying to make calls which requires more frequency issues for a TDMA network that are not in a CDMA. In other words it is the Technology.
I am almost never dropped in the Washington Baltimore area. I am with Verizon. I work with tons of people that use the AT&T service in this area and they have lots of drops and a poorer quality radio.
