Please explain what the Palestinian-Israel conflict has to do with Iraq's conflicts with Iran and with Kuwait.

Clealy it had nothing to do with them. If there were no Israel in the ME, these conflicts in the Persian Gulf would still exist. And we would be involved just as we are because of the economic importance of the Persian Gulf.

From the Crusades in the 11th century to the occupation of the Middle East by European powers after the Fall of the Ottoman Empire (1919) to the creation of Israel by terroristic annexation of Palestinian territories in 1948, the conflict between Moslems and the west has been ongoing without let up. You could say the same about the conflict between Moslems and Hindus in India. Or the conflict between Moslems and non-Moslems in sub-Saharan Africa. Islam has for much of its history been an expansionist imperialistic religion.

linton was correct in identifying that the source of all present day Middle East problems lies at the heart of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and that was why he did his best to achieve a historic peace accord between the Palestine and Israel. It was good that Clinton sought peace between Palestine and Israel, but if he actually thought that that conflict was the source of all ME problems, he was wrong.
