Hi MJ,

I rarely buy individual stocks. With oil, I am trading DXO/DTO, which are long/short the crude futures with 200% leverage. That's a pure play on oil itself.

I don't follow any companies, and don't want to know anything about fundamentals or balance sheets. Besides the fact that I don't have time anymore, I learned a long time ago that the vast majority of information out there is either non-contributory or downright misleading. In my view, the notion that you can trade more successfully if you can gather and process more information is completely wrong.

Unfortunately, they gunned my stop today. I had an 8% trailing stop, and DXO gapped up impressively in the morning, but then proceeded to drop over 9% from the HOD. That was just barely enough to take out my stop (by a penny !!). Then, of course, the market immediately reversed and moved up a few percent to finish even on the day.

It was a 30% profit on the trade, so I can't really complain. But I do anyway!
