Bill, Hypothetical scenario: I don't follow Compaq, nor do I use its products. Suppose I flooded the Compaq thread with posts comparing ten year old Compaqs with five year old Macs or openly questioned the difference between the Pentium and Pentium II chips. Then, armed with a laundry list of old marketing miscues and strategic mistakes, I proceed to lecture the regulars on the Compaq thread on the benefits of the Mac over a Compaq PC. How much credibility would I have? Do you think one or two folks on that board might question my credentials? Get it? I'm not trying to shut down open discussion about Apple or to gloss over its problems. But I do think if you're going to flood this board with your "wisdom" you might at least familiarize yourself with the subject. Bob
