The IBM revenues falling short and Lockheed Martin's decision
not to go forward with APALS are both ancient pieces of news.
The company can not be faulted for either of these situations. IBM
did a very poor job of forcasting, and LMT did not put forth a full
effort in trying to sell the product. BTW, IBM business is not
dead, and APALS technology can be used elsewhere. The company
continues to ship product to IBM, and there is a good chance that
there will be new business from IBM this years...So...Can we move on??
I hope everyone is aware that the fundamentals of Spectrum have never
been better. Once again this year we will see substantial earnings
growth and will so again in 1998. There will be 30 new products
available this year. 1997 is the first year that product is being
shipped to Nortel, and those revenues could equal total CTI revenues
from 1996 plus they carry higher margins. I'm sure you all saw
the release welcoming Ron Wages as VP of Marketing, but did
ANYBODY READ IT??? They spelled out quite abit of information in this
release...everything from acquistions, to strenghtened relationship
with Texas Instruments. This young man is very well respected
in his field, and brings with him many relationships. For those
who doubt that he will make a difference, think again.
Ron Wages has the ability to bring this company to the next level, and
he will do just that. His move to SSPIF is one of the best pieces
of news we've had in a long time. This is not the time to be
sorry you own this stock. Why did anyone buy this stock to begin
with??? Are you dissapointed with the technology, earnings, or growth
rate? Those things have been great. What we should be disappointed
in are the shorts, and market makers playing around with the stock
price, not the performance of the company. We should take advantage
of the fact that small cap stocks are out of favor right now. IMHO...
We will be rewarded!!!!
