LEAPS = LOOOOng term options. less risky then short term options, any good company can get caught in a down draft any time due to market condtions etc. So I use leaps. My intention is to dump them 6mo. prior to experation. U R right you can do the same thing in a short term. but you had strike time mixed up. You would for eg. buy july 140calls and sell july 150. This way you get $10+ july 150 premium.
