Sorry to disappoint you but I know very very little about the medical field and the science behind it. I jumped in becuase of the $$$ and the fact that they won the lawsuit. I read at the Cistron thread before about what they did but right now do not remember. I think it had something to do with gene reasearch or something hi tech like that which might take several years to develope. The drugs/patents that they currently own I believe almost covered their cost but that was before wining the lawsuit when they shut down much of the operation to concentrate the resources on the lawsuit. Here is the profile that yahoo had on this company:

Cistron is a biotechnology company that uses recombinant DNA and immunological techniques to manufacture a line of
cytokine products which it sells to the research market. For the nine months ended 3/97, sales rose 1% to $484 thousand. Net
income totalled $12.2 million vs. a loss of $780 thousand. Revenues benefitted from increased sales of IL-1 protein, partially
offset by decreased sales of bulk IL-1 assay components. Earnings reflect a $15.2 million litigation settlement gain.

Here is a link to the companies home page I tried to read it but the science is beyond my comprehension.
