Cacheflow is aggressively pursuing the appliance approach for web caching. They have a series of small to large web caching appliances running their own special-purpose OS and some patented algorithms for caching.

They are branching out into more content management, as is NTAP.

Cacheflow does not have "filers", just web caching.

They have a decent web site for you to learn more:

cacheflow.com

They are definitely a player and they are definitely up against NTAP in the market and often win when the customer is not after filers and some fo the new NTAP software.

The broad view difference between the two companies strategies is that NTAP is offering "end-to-end" web content management with a combination of filers, NetCache running on the filer platform, NetCache appliances (small), and NetCache software-only which the customer can run on UNIX or NT.

Hope this helps.
