The dollar amount of DRAM shipments are down. My rough calibration has the cost/dram down about 75% since mid 1995.

My back of the envelope calculation shows that a 75% decline in unit price, producing a net 39% drop in total revenue, computes to a Unit Volume increase of 240% (assuming volume of BITS, not necessarily, chips).

Thus, the memory market is EXPANDING rapidly, tracking microprocessor sales.

I think the technical press ("media") are not properly reporting this phenomenon.
