In 1972, things were different. America should have been spelled with a K in those days. They were shooting protesters in the streets. Remember Kent State? Remember the Pentagon Papers which proved the whole war was a big scam on the American people? Remember 55,500 Americans dying for a very questionable cause (or lack thereof)? Remember the false promises of Johnson and Nixon? Dont try to equivalate 1972 with today. Everyone with a moderate brain in those days wanted that war over ASAP, and was mad as hell that it wasn't being done. Nixon only got elected because he promised to end the war. But never did. Ford had to end the war for him.
