Need some tech questions answered re: wireless vrs cellular, help.

I just had a rather lengthy discussion with a person about Nextel and cellular. Which one of us is right?

I say:

1. Nextel uses two way radio type systems.
2. Signals are bounced off the atmosphere.
3. Antennas don't need to be closely spaced, thus service in remote areas.
4. Antenna construction is costly and requires a build out.
5. Advancement has been in the use of computer enhanced compression of
signals which allow more info per channel.
6. cellular needs more antennas because signal is line of sight.
7. cellular antennas are cheaper to build, they can go on bldg roofs.

He says.

1. cellular goes longer distances between antennas, than Nextel
2. cellular antennas are more expensive
3. Nextel needs line of sight transmission, thus, more antennas.
4. Nextel antenna systems are inexpensive and easy to build.

Confusing, I hope not. But I think my argueing partner heard things backward. Pleas help the confusion and enable me to prove that I'm right about something.

Al G., usually wrong, but argues stongly, this case I'm right, right?
