I'm not surprised that so many electronics manufacturers are buying into the wireless web revolution idea. What I find puzzling is the dichotomy between them and the carriers.

Sprint is the most aggressive and they won't be beginning their 1X rollout until late next year with Verizon beginning around the same time but rolling out more slowly. At the same time it was like a free-for-all among the phone/PDA/PC guys who all have more devices and ideas for more than you can shake a stick at.

I've lost no faith in Q and I'm in since Jan '97. It does seem, however, that we can only go as fast as the slowest link. I hope the product vendors are careful not to oversell their stuff before the infrastructure is there to handle it. No doubts in my mind whatsoever that wireless data is the place to be and that Q is the best way to play it, but it's not a short term play. We've done very well so far with this strategy and will continue to do well if we continue to follow it.
