That is correct. Many people object to paying for SS and Medicare now but everyone must contribute to help pay for those who need the benefit now. That spreads the cost among us all. It will be there for the current young healthy folks when they need it and particularly when they need it most.
It's also very important for coverage of children.....you know of any children that have never needed medical care? Now they go to ER's for very expensive service.

How many seniors do you think have SS as their only source of income? No idea....get a local newspaper and read the letters to the editor... Are you or any of your family receiving SS and Medicare? Are any refusing it?
