I have the same questions as you regarding Nextel / Nextlink / NextBand. We should be able to get answers no later than the annual report or the shareholder's meeting.

I see a powerful entity shaping up to provide world-wide telecommunications / information to the masses. The remaining component to be clearly drawn in is Teledesic, or some variation thereof (the system will need satellites). Didn't someone post here that Bill Gates was in Washinton, D.C. for the LMDS auctions?

The Washington Post put out an excellent insert about six months ago called "The Wireless World". It featured a summary of an interview with Craig McCaw; the article stated that McCaw wants to provide telecommunications to the masses.

This industry is exciting to watch. It has dramatic social, economic, and political implications. This is much more than Direct Connect. Watch the world change.
