Hi George8,

Here's how to turn on Microsoft's firewall:

Click on Start, then Control Panel. Find the Security icon and click on it. You'll then see the securities features, so just select the Firewall and turn it on.

I assuming that you are using XP Home and have installed SP2. If not, I don't believe that you will find the Security icon in the Control Panel. Let me know if you have a problem.
